This Privacy Policy explains how HiVis Finance Pty Ltd, as an authorised credit representative of Aim Financial (Australian Credit Licence No. 389527), collects, uses, discloses and protects your personal and credit-related information. We handle your information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) and the Privacy (Credit Reporting) Code.
What we collect
To help you obtain finance we collect information including: your name, contact details and date of birth; identity documents (such as driver's licence details); residential and employment history; income, assets, liabilities and other financial details; your business details and ABN; details of the asset you wish to finance; and credit information, including information about prior credit applications, defaults and your credit history.
Why we collect it and how we use it
We collect this information so we can assess your needs, match you to a suitable lender on our panel, prepare and submit an application on your behalf, and arrange and manage your finance. We may also use it to comply with our legal obligations and to contact you about your application.
Who we disclose it to
We may disclose your information to: lenders and credit providers on our panel; Aim Financial as our licensee; credit reporting bodies and other service providers (for example, identity and ABN verification, document delivery and messaging providers); your nominated referees, accountant or broker; and others where required or authorised by law. We do not sell your information.
Credit reporting
As part of an application, a lender may obtain a credit report about you from a credit reporting body. You can ask a credit reporting body not to use your information for direct marketing and not to disclose it where you reasonably believe you may be a victim of fraud. Their policies explain how they manage credit information.
Direct marketing
We may contact you about products or services that may be of interest. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to an SMS, using the unsubscribe link in an email, or contacting us using the details below.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including secure transmission and access controls. No system is completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe and to destroy or de-identify it when it is no longer needed.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate. If you have a privacy concern or complaint, please contact us first using the details below and we will respond. If you are not satisfied, you can refer your complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) and, for credit-related matters, to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA).
